Introduction of Film Director and Producer

It is very pleasure to introduce myself. My name is Yunhong LI. And Sisters is the third complete individual film all produced by myself.

I am a postgraduate student in UEA, and my major is Film Study.

I had worked for Guangzhou University Drama Troupe for four years before I graduated from GU. In these four years, I was the main actor of four full-length dramas: Rhinoceros in Love, Put down Your Parker Type Revolver, Winter’s Tale and Broken Gauze; and three language art appreciations: Story Night, L.O.V.E. and Three Words in Three Years. Besides, I was the sole director of Mobile Phone and Broken Gauze. Moreover, I was the General Director of L.O.V.E. and Three Words in Three Years.

I was not only active in the drama troupe, but also was active with internships during holidays. In 2005 and 2008, I did my internship in two famous local TV stations. The staff there shared with me lots of their experiences they had gained from their work and life. That was a valuable treasure, which is greatly different from the theories I had learned from books.

In 2006 with my friends’ help I set up a studio targeting at shooting documentaries for companies, producing adverts for enterprises and making music videos for singers, and now it is a well-known studio in Guangzhou, China.

From 2006 to 2008, I tried independently to shoot two movies, Stories about Males and Females and He and His Two Wives.

For this film, is not only a simple film. It is kind of like an experiment. I try to contrast the difference of the psychological film style between China and United Kingdom. And present these differences in the film. Finally, I want to find the way to make a combination.

This is the first time that I make a film in English. It is very difficult to express what I want to say. However, I have tried my best to do it. Hope you like it.

Introduction of the Starring and Characters 3 - Shuying LIU & Younger Sister

Shuying LIU - 刘书颖

Shuying is a psychology postgraduate student in UEA. Through the introduction from her friend, she came to the audition, and became the fianl actress for the chacter the younger sister.

She has the great natural performance for the character. She is the first choice of the actress for the younger sister. The only thing that I worry about is that she has not any experience to being an actress. However, She used her performence gave me a surprise.

There is a episode when we shooting the scene that she cry on EGO's chest. It is very difficult for the girl without any acting experience. I tried my best to guide her emotion. However, I failed. As you know, she is a psychological student, and she has a stong instinct of self-protection. Everytime I almost make her cry, she will stop to follow me and jump out of the atmosphere and said she cannot catch me. It drove me crazy. Finally, I sucessfully use a method that I really do not want to use to make her cry. At here, I have to solemnly apologize to her.

She was afraid to her older sister, and wanted to get out of the house.

She was try to make her sister anger thus the abreaction of her negetive emotion.

She was talking to ID, and asked her help.

Introduction of the Starring and Characters 2 --- Jing WANG & ID

Jing WANG - 王婧

Jing Wang is a student in INTO, and she plays the elder sister (ID) in the film. In fact, the previous setting of this girl is using a British actress to play. However, something happened very hopelessly. One of British actress quit at the half of process due to the emergency of her family. Another one only shoot for two hours and after that, she said she has not time to finish. The last one, after I told her that she pass the audition, then I cannot contact her ever.

When I felt desperation, Jing Wang agree to play the role. It is very important to know that, after the time wasting for those three British actresses, I have to reshoot 50% shoots and it is the beginning of July. I asked for help on the street and campus, everybody refused me on the excuse of dessertation. Therefore, I am really appreciate for her helping.

The character ID, actually, is the same person to EGO. The only one difference is that they have different personality. ID always express her emotion, happy, attention, anger, and pain. The idea in her mind is very extreme. If you want to know how extreme she is, please watch my film.

She approached her younger sister step by step to the trap that she set up before.

She wanted to kill the man.

She instigated to EGO to do something.

Introduction of the Starring and Characters 1 --- Jiaqi DONG & EGO

Jiaqi DONG - 董家琦

She is a FTV postgraduate student in the University of East Anglia. she has got experiences on performance. She gave me a great help.


The character she plays is the elder sister (EGO). She is always calm and never excited. She is loving her younger sister apparently, and they get along well. However, in the bottom of her heart, she is very jealous to her younger sister, because she is mor beautiful and most even all of her family like the younger more.


EGO has got a fiancé, while she does not like him. In fact, her personality is not flattering at all. Therefore, although she has not any feeling with this man, she still agree to his proposal of marriage.


One day, her little sister told her that she has an affaire with EGO's fiancé and asked EGO to give him to her. Could you imagin how she response to the younger? Her answer is yes.


All of these contradictions bring much pressure on her, but according to her personality, she would never put any emotions on her face. Therefore, this character in the hole story is always smile. Of course, sometimes, her smile may become sneering. When we were shooting the film, I always said that Jiaqi, give me a devil's smile please.

The Film Content

Two sisters get along well. The older is a writer. What she does everyday is just writing and writing in her house. In order to shun loneliness, she keeps a cat names Blacky. The little sister is a model, more beautiful than the older. She is an outgoing girl, and everyone just loves her more.

The older sister has a fiancé; however, she does not love him. The litter sister loves that man and the man just loves back. The older sister broke up with her fiancé and the little sister got engaged to him. The family didn’t approve of this, so the little sister went and hid in the older sister’s house. They worked hard on a way for the younger one to steal away.

The little sister found that the cat disappeared, so she asked her sister what had happened. Her sister answered with smile, “When I was feeding it the other day, I dropped some fat meat in the bowl. It refused to eat it, so I wanted to pick them out. But it pawed me seriously. Therefore, I ended its life. ” The sister continued, “You see the cat is like that, protecting something of its own even if it dose not like it. They just don’t like the idea of something being taken way from them. I am that kind of person, too.”

Actually, the elder sister was jealous of the beauty of the little sister and the love the family gave her. However, the most unacceptable is that her fiancé betrayed her, even though she did not love him. At the end of the story, everything was broken.
